Whitsunday Shorebird Expedition. Wish You Were Here.

By November 13, 2014 May 26th, 2016 Great Barrier Reef Islands

The Wildcat left Mackay Marina just after 0700 hours bound for a voyage covering the length of the Whitsunday Islands.

After a team meeting with our dedicated team of volunteers, experts and novices alike, we took a direct heading to Western Point on Brampton Island to commence surveys of seabirds along our entire route. Coffin Island, Finger and Thumb Islets and stretching beaches on the northern side of Goldsmith Island were the order of the day.

Now at the days end, we are settling in to our overnight anchorage at Roylen Bay, reviewing the days findings, swimming, beachcombing and preparing for our BBQ dinner on the back deck of the Wildcat.

Want to join our next Whitsunday Expedition check out the details for March 2015.
