The privilege of being guardian of the Noises comes a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to ensuring the islands, together with the marine environment which surrounds them, is looked after for future generations of kiwis.

Sue spent 10 years living aboard a yacht and chartering through the South Pacific. This experience, together with a lifetime of observations from the Noises, have provided a fantastic education, an increasing awareness and has fuelled a determination to make a difference to our terrestrial and marine environments in New Zealand.

Initiating a collaborative approach to marine protection around the Noises is her current work – subsidised by landscaping and revegetation planting!! She loves everything to do with the ocean, her garden, hiking, adventures and exploring remote places.

Wild Mob’s involvement in the Noises has a hugely positive effect in energising her family’s efforts in weed control, the future could also see Wild Mob support in the marine field and it’s providing a fantastic opportunity to work with like-minded people.

She knows this sort of encouragement and support are crucial to supporting efforts to restore our environment.
