John grew up in Auckland and Wellington. As a child he had unrestricted access to the Hutt River and spent a lot of his time catching tadpoles and cock-a-bullies (little fish).
Recently retired, John enjoys spending time with his family, particularly his three grandchildren. Working to improve the environment on Rakino Island also gives John a great deal of pleasure, as does sitting in the sun with a glass of wine doing absolutely nothing!
John really admires the work Wild Mob is doing in New Zealand. He believes it not only gives people the opportunity to be involved in projects they would not otherwise be able to participate in, but also makes a real difference on the ground.
